MV Agusta 175 CSTL
Basic touring lay-out of the famous overhead cam road sportster. This bike was shown at the Milano bike show in November 1952 together with the Sports type. It took however till 154 before production started. The development was by Mario Rossi, after designs made by the Count Domenico Agusta himself in the early 1950’s.
Representing the new direction the Factory went into after leaving the strokers behind, and very successful in production numbers. It became the basis of a number of sporty roadsters.
This version was available from 1954 on towards 1958, telescopic front suspension, and overhead chain-driven camshaft. It is a great all-round touring bike.
The engine was detuned from the Sports type, with an 18 mm Dell-Orto carburetor, and has coil springs. Compression ratio was also a less compared to the Sport, by means of an almost flat piston. Production number not much more than 2.200 units.
